Lemon Quartz

This lovely gem is as fresh as the fruit from which it gets its name. Often confused with the truly sunny citrine, lemon quartz hues range from warm yellow tones to pale lemon pastels. Its official name, ‘ouro verde’, is Portuguese for ‘greenish gold. This alludes to a particularly charming shade: the shimmering minty green that we favor in our collection.

Zest for life

Zest for life

Not surprisingly, lemon quartz’ bright and cheerful shades are believed to bring vitality and joy to those who wear them. Its sparkling energy is also associated with self-confidence and clarity of mind which is said to attract success and financial abundance. Set in shades of delicate rose or bright yellow gold, lemon quartz jewels ooze with positivity and joie de vivre.

A bright and resilient stone

Like all members of the quartz family, lemon quartz is a hard-wearing stone able to withstand extremely high temperatures. Therefore, it lends itself well to heat treatment to enhance its natural shades. On the Mohs scale it has a hardness of 7.

Quartz is also ‘doubly refractive’, meaning it can split a ray of light in two directions, thereby increasing its visual depth and brilliance. Brightness and durability make lemon quartz a popular choice for everyday jewelry wear.
